He was born in Bland County, Va. on July 7, 1935 and was the son of the late Gilford and Beatrice Kitts Davis. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Glorina Sarver and husband Mason, Della Schram and husband Waldo, Naomi Brunk and husband Vance. He leaves behind a loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Hancock Davis; beloved dog Angel and cat Susie; son, J.D. Davis and wife Nancy; two daughters, Janice Orvik and husband Darrell, Maxine Robertson and husband Alvin; one brother, J.R. Davis and wife Johnnie; three sisters, Peggy Martin and husband Jerry, Sue Morris and husband Ed, Judy Corder and husband Sammy; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Mike Sage officiating. The family will receive family and friends at the residence at any time.
